August 6, 2024- The much-anticipated Pixar sequel, Inside Out 2, has achieved monumental success at the box office, cementing its place as one of the highest-grossing films of all time. Since its release on June 14, 2024, the film has grossed an astonishing $1.56 billion worldwide, making it the tenth highest-grossing film in history and the highest-grossing animated film ever, surpassing Frozen II.

In its seventh weekend alone, Inside Out 2 added $8.3 million to its domestic total, bringing it to over $613 million in the United States. Internationally, the film has been equally impressive, earning over $900 million. The movie’s recent release in Japan significantly contributed to this figure, with Japanese audiences adding $5 million to the global tally this past weekend.

Directed by Kelsey Mann, Inside Out 2 continues the story of Riley, now a teenager, and introduces new emotions such as Anxiety, voiced by Maya Hawke. The film has been praised by both critics and audiences, holding a 91% critic score and a 96% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

The success of Inside Out 2 has also propelled Disney to become the first studio to surpass $3 billion at the global box office in 2024, highlighting a remarkable year for the entertainment giant.
As Inside Out 2 continues its theatrical run, it is poised to climb even higher on the all-time box office chart, potentially overtaking films like Jurassic World and the 2019 remake of The Lion King. With its captivating story and emotional depth, Inside Out 2 has not only won over audiences but has also set a new benchmark for animated films.
