Washington [US]: Halloween season just got a lot more… groovy! The notorious horror icon, Michael Myers, known for his creepy, silent stalking in the Halloween films, traded in his slasher moves for some dance-floor action on this week’s Saturday Night Live (SNL). In a hilarious twist, actor Jaxson (played by Mikey Day) brought a whole new vibe to the infamous killer in a fictional sequel titled Halloween Rises.

In the sketch, the scene starts like any classic horror setup. Characters Haley (Chloe Fineman) and Sasha (Ashley Padilla) are at home watching a scary movie when Michael Myers sneaks in. But instead of pulling out his iconic butcher knife, he throws his hands on his hips and busts out some unexpected—and pretty fabulous—dance moves to the Halloween theme song!

The director (Andrew Dismukes) quickly cuts in, clearly baffled by the performance. “Jaxson, your movements are just a little too… theatrical,” he says. But Jaxson, completely unbothered, explains that he worked on the moves with his stunt coordinator, none other than Beetlejuice legend Michael Keaton, who plays the overly-enthusiastic Beau.

As Jaxson attempts to tone down the performance, things only get more dramatic with a full-on Broadway-style dance number. While the director isn’t sold on this killer’s moves, Beau is all for it, leaving the audience in stitches.

It looks like Michael Myers is swapping slashing for sashaying this Halloween, proving that even the scariest villains can have a little fun on the dance floor!
