Amanda Seyfried has voiced her support for Sabrina Carpenter potentially playing her on-screen daughter in Mamma Mia 3. During an interview, Seyfried responded to fan suggestions of Carpenter taking on the role after the singer performed Mamma Mia’s title track during her Short ‘N Sweet tour. Seyfried, who starred as Sophie in the original two films, humorously acknowledged that in the Mamma Mia Cinematic Universe (MMCU), age is a “forgettable construct” and said she’d happily make it happen, adding, “I’m a big fan.”
The idea of Mamma Mia 3 has been gaining momentum, with producer Judy Craymer hinting at its development. Christine Baranski, who starred in both prior films, revealed that Craymer has already outlined a plot for the next installment. Although no script has surfaced yet, fans are eagerly awaiting the continuation of the beloved musical series.
Sabrina Carpenter, meanwhile, is enjoying significant success with her Short ‘N Sweet tour and was recently named to Time’s 100 Next list for 2024
