BLACKPINK’s Jisoo won’t be making a solo music comeback this December, as per her agency BLISSOO, which has confirmed that her focus will remain on her acting career. Earlier reports suggested that Jisoo was preparing for a year-end solo release, but her agency clarified, “The news of her solo comeback is not true,” reaffirming her commitment to acting.
Fans who have eagerly awaited new music from Jisoo since her solo debut FLOWER in 2023 may be disappointed but can look forward to her evolving career in film and drama. Jisoo recently wrapped filming Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint, a film adaptation of Sing Shong’s web novel, where she will co-star with Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, and Chae Soo Bin. The movie is set for a summer 2025 release.
Additionally, she is set to star in Newtopia (formerly Influenza), a zombie drama expected to premiere on Coupang Play in January 2025. In the show, she will play the girlfriend of Park Jung Min’s character, marking her return to dramas after her acclaimed role in Snowdrop (2021).
Jisoo’s dedication to acting follows her move to establish her own agency, BLISSOO, after her contract with YG Entertainment ended in 2023. Since then, she’s focused on building her acting portfolio, leaving her music ventures on hold.
